International English and Spanish Language Day

(February 2023)

The International English and Spanish Language Day was organised to celebrate multilingualism and cultural diversity. On this day, the students participated in a multitude of activities that included language games, presentations, theatrical performances, all of which augmented their vocabulary, grammar, and conversational proficiency. Students also delved into the works of renowned authors and poets, thereby fostering a love for reading literature and developing their own writing skills.

Independence Day - 2023

The Independence Day was celebrated to mark India’s liberation from the colonial rule. The day began with the flag hoisting ceremony, igniting a sense of patriotism and national pride in the young generation. The students remembered the contribution and sacrifices of the unsung heroes for the cause of freedom of their nation. They raised contemporary issues which face their country today such as poverty, discrimination, violence. They encouraged their peers to think of novel ways to achieve freedom from these concerns. The programme ended with a humorous poem that helped them understand the idea of freedom in their own context.

Sanskrit Day - August 2023

The Sanskrit Diwas was celebrated to share the significance of the language, and encourage it’s revival and propagation. Students presented a song in Sanskrit which they often sing in their classes. They also danced on a Sanskrit song. They performed a small theatrical act to showcase the fearlessness of Maharana Pratap. The event ended with the screening of two short movies in Sanskrit and a discussion on them. The programme was conceptualized, organised and conducted by students learning Sanskrit in classes 9 and 10.

Founder’s Day - July 2023

The Founder’s Day was celebrated to commemorate the legacy of the Srijan School and celebrate its growth as one of the premier educational institutions in Delhi. The students presented a thoughtful assembly to showcase their love and pride for the school. Their musical rendition and dance performance beautifully reflected how they were living the school motto Shreshthatam Srijamyaham. A small quiz on the school history evoked excited responses. The students were encouraged to actualise the school vision and make the world a better place.

Another part of the celebration was a grand programme in the evening, where individuals and organisations associated with the school for the last twenty years were invited. The programme was presented by the teachers. Each event was reminiscent of the yester years and the meaningful journey each individual took with the school. The Management and the Principal appreciated everyone’s contributions and encouraged them to make a difference in the life of our young minds.

The Earth Day was celebrated to demonstrate the school’s support for environmental protection. Various activities were planned on the day such as slogan writing, paper bag painting and group discussion to spread awareness on the Earth Day theme for 2023, Invest in Our Planet. A special assembly was also conducted by the students to sensitize their peers about the pressing environmental concerns and motivate them to adopt sustainable lifestyles.

Hindi Diwas – 2023

The Hindi Diwas was celebrated to share the significance of the language for the nation and encourage it’s widespread usage amongst the young generation. A theatrical act in the special assembly portrayed that amongst the many languages spoken in India, Hindi is the most widely used.

Various activities such as performance of monologues and enactment of commercial advertisements in Hindi were organised for the students. It gave them a platform to showcase their language prowess and creativity. The poetry recitation competition acquainted the students with eminent poets of Hindi literature, thereby exposing them to formal Hindi vocabulary and expression.

The Labour Day was celebrated to commemorate the struggles, sacrifices and contributions of the workers. It aimed to raise awareness about the rights of the working people, their protection from exploitation and the vital role played by them in society. Through a theatrical act, the students acknowledged their contribution to our society and appreciated their indomitable spirit and ceaseless endeavour. They also took to cleaning their classrooms and the school premises to understand the significant duties performed by their bhaiyas and didis and empathise with them.

Investiture Ceremony Day - August 2023

The Investiture Ceremony was organised to formalize the appointment of student leaders who were democratically elected by their schoolmates. It entailed the conferring of badges and entrusting them with important designations such as School Secretary General, Deputy Secretary General, Captains and Deputy Captains of different committees and Houses. The student leaders solemnly pledged to uphold the ideals of the institution and perform their duties diligently with a sense of service, accountability and integrity.

Trips And Excursions

Outstation Trips

The recreational-cum-educational outstation trips were organised for students of classes 4 to 12. It gave them an opportunity to venture beyond the traditional confines of the classroom, explore new places and learn about varied socio-economic set-ups.

Classes 9 to 12 went to different hill stations and saw mesmerising natural wonders in Dalhousie-Khajjiar, Mukteshwar, Dharamshala-Mcleodganj and Mussorie. They also drew insights from man-made wonders like the Tehri Dam and the Chamera Lake hydro-electricity project. They were fascinated with the rich experience of community service in the village of Mukteshwar and had an intriguing experience in the charming Corn village of Mussorie.

Class 6 learnt to appreciate nature through a visit to the Jim Corbett National Park, while classes 7 and 8 experienced a tapestry of local history in Udaipur-Chittorgarh and Jaipur-Ranthambore.

Classes 4 and 5 went to the National Parks, Sariska and Ranthambore, respectively. They experienced many adventurous and team-building activities amidst nature. They also learnt the about the need to conserve wildlife resources, particularly tigers. It was a thrilling and learning experience for our young ones.
